Running Resistant Hair | Invisibobble Review

Hello!

Like most long haired girls, I love me some bobbles/hair ties/ponytail holders, or hair accessories in general.

I have about a million different sizes, colours, and materials all living happily in my hair stuff draw, yet I’m always on the lookout for that perfect bobble.

I find that regular bobbles with the little metal clasp tend to pull, snap, and always leave a dent in my hair. So I bought the ones that have no metal claps, and they just stretched out to the point of no return, and eventually snapped too. Then I tried Remington 3 black elastics, and they were okay but I couldn’t get them tight enough to keep a high ponytail up. After that I ventured into the hair bungee, which was also okay but I found it took some practice to be able to use it properly on myself. Also, I like to have the option of tying my hair up by wearing a hair band on my wrist, and this is something you can’t do with the hair bungee.

Naturally, I was starting to lose hope. All I wanted was a durable bobble that would keep my hair up in a high ponytail without giving me headache, or denting my hair. When I saw the Invisibobble, I figured I might as well try it, seeing as I’ve fell for every other marketing ploy...

Firstly, I love that it’s called bobble because when I say ‘bobble’ in my YouTube videos, many people are like, ‘what the hell is she on about’. Haha.

It looks a little weird and I was pretty convinced it was going to get stuck in my hair, but it actually slides out really easy without bringing half your hair out too. It kind of sinks into your hair, so it grips it really well and doesn’t slip, but it is still visible and a little chunky. I quite like how it looks, but you could easily wrap some hair over it to conceal it. After wearing the Invisibobble at home and in work, it had ticked all the boxes, so I figured it was time for the ultimate test...The Gym.

Running on the treadmill and having your high pony slowly slip down your head to a low pony is so annoying and distracting. I am happy to report that it completely stayed in place! Yay! There is little to no movement, even if you try to tighten your ponytail by splitting it in half and pulling.

This little phone cord (remember those days!) hair tie is awesome. This is all I use now, especially if I’m wearing my hair up in a bun or high ponytail, I know I can throw this in with no worries.

33 Days To Go! | Monin Gingerbread Syrup

I know, I know, it’s not even hit December, I shouldn’t be talking Christmas just yet, but when you work in retail it’s pretty much been Christmas since August! So surprisingly I’m still growing a tad festive day by day, and also very excitable.

I had my very first Gingerbread Latte of the season yesterday, and it was B-E-A-Utiful. Sweet and gingery...Yum! It was making me envision myself skipping through a winter wonderland, wearing a massive, white, glittering, furry hat, just heading to  pat a reindeer whilst it grazed on candy cane grass, all as I sipped my Christmas beverage.

Winter is just magical.

So, when I snapped out of that little fantasy, I headed off to do some boring errands and food shopping. Not so magical. However, some lovely elves had put this out on the shelves! It’s like they knew :] I found this in Tesco, and it was only £2.99! How could I resist buying it?

Ahhhhhh! I am my very own ‘Cost-star-ero’. Haha.

I can make as many soya gingerbread coffees as I like, whenever I like! I can add a splash to some hot chocolate too, or if I’m feeling extremely festive, just go right ahead and neck it from the bottle for an amazing sugar rush. (I’m exaggerating, don’t do that please!)

It tastes just as good in my own, homemade coffee, compared to any gingerbread drinks I’ve bought. The best thing is you have complete control over your gingerbread level :]

You can have a little splash (gingernut crumb level), or a dash of coffee with your gingerbread syrup (Hansel & Gretel house level) If you see this on your ventures, and you like gingerbread goodness, defiantly pick it up.

Being Healthy Is Hard Work | 150 BPM Playlist

 

The Gym

 Where to start...I have an on, off relationship with this place, but the reason I try to go is because I just want to be healthy. (And because it costs me 40 quid a month) Who knew it would be so damn hard! I’m actually typing this in my gym clothes, putting off going...Oops!

I have fell into a lull of doing the same stuff and it's just became a boring chore. So in an effort to make myself more willing to go, I have started by revamping my running/jogging play list.

For me, there’s nothing more boring than running on the treadmill, I just end up watching the strip of fabric go round and round under my feet like a zombie hamster. So to combat this I have crafted my perfect BPM (beats per minute) song list. I jog comfortably at around 150 BPM, but found it pretty hard to compile a good list of songs I actually like. I wouldn’t say I have any particular taste in music, it really does vary, so I thought I would share my play list because I know I’m always on the lookout for new songs to add!

Surprisingly I have managed to re-energise myself, and make it a little more exciting to exercise.

Bulletproof Nails | Rimmel Salon Pro | Kate Moss

Hope you had a sparkly 5th of November!

So sadly, I’m one of the unfortunate people who always seems to smudge and/or chip nail varnish within minutes of applying it. It doesn’t matter if I paint my nails at home or go for a manicure; it just doesn’t last very long! I’ve tried numerous brands which claim no chipping, long lasting etc...

No, I’m just kidding, they obviously just don’t work for me as my job is very hands on. So when I was out shopping the other day and saw this amazing colour ‘Barmy Blue’ from Rimmel, I figured I’d try it out but didn’t expect much. This is from the Rimmel Salon Pro line, and the colour is from the Kate Moss collection.

It claims to be a long lasting, chip resistant polish with a gel like finish.

 

The first thing I noticed was that the flat, dense brush had a rounded tip, making it such a nice shape to work with. I could never stay in the colouring lines as a kid, so you can imagine the state of my manicures. The colour pigment and application was really easy, it's not too thin or thick, so you can create very sheer or solid layers depending on how much time you have. The picture above shows 2 very thin coats, which is solid to the naked eye, but I did pop another coat on afterwards, just to make sure. I felt that the drying time was pretty much the same as my other polishes, but the finish is lovely! Very shiny and reminiscent of gel, and I haven’t even got to the best bit yet...It didn’t chip!

 It’s an actual miracle :]

I’m majorly impressed with this little pot of nail magic. I did put a top coat on, but it only started to chip on the 5^th day, and even then it was only on a couple of fingers on my dominant hand, and on day 7 it was just wearing away slightly on the edges. It does say ‘with lycra’ on the bottle, which makes me think that the polish is more bendy, which is why it doesn’t really chip? (So scientific)

This is definitely my new favourite nail product, I was so impressed I went out and got another colour after the first couple of days of wearing ‘Barmy Blue’. (‘Punk Rock’ a pretty muted purple/grey) I’m planning on slowly owning them all because they are seriously top notch. I reckon if you added your top coat daily, it could realistically last well over a week.
