So here's the thing, I'm finding it difficult to keep up with a blog and videos and real life work. So I have to drop one so I don't burn myself out :(
Unfortunately I have to keep my job for the pennies to pay the bills, and I really want to dedicate myself properly to projects so that the quality and content is good. For me, making videos feels more natural than sitting down and writing at the moment. I could easily just post a blog about every video I make, but to me that feels uninspired and a tad lazy.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some balance and a writing mojo back one day soon, so it's not a goodbye forever :)
So I believe prom season is coming up, as is graduation or a
leaving ball if you’re still in education. If not then there’s always weddings,
girls night, festivals and numerous other fun events that seem to take over summer.
If you’re struggling for an easy up do to wear to one of these dates, then I’ve
got you covered! This little up do is quick and easily personalised as you can
wear it loose and messy or neat and formal. Either way, it looks like you’ve
spent way more time on it than you actually did!
Please check it out and let me know what you think :)
So a couple of weeks ago I went to see Brand New perform in
Manchester and it was Amazing! I’ve seen them once before and that was a truly
epic gig, and this second time was no disappointment. Now I may be slightly
bias as they are my favourite band, but I feel that it was an incredible experience regardless.
There’s just something about being in room, tightly packed, with others who share your
love for the same music. The atmosphere is so exciting at a gig or concert, you’re
hearing/seeing songs you love being brought to life in front of you, and they
sound 10x times better.
I had all the feels.
Anyway, I filmed a GRWM video for the gig because I think it can be a confusing time in terms of face, hair and fashion.
My rules I
stick to are:
Hair – Tied up because it gets really hot
Face – Go all or none because it’s going to get sweaty
Fashion – Light layers you can strip off and tie around you
or roll up in your bag
Accessories – Nothing that will accidentally attach to others, and a smallish cross body bag or just use your
pockets
Here’s my first video of my face that night, it’s nothing
complex, just primers and layering of products to make them stick! I'd love to hear tips and tricks too :]

P.S Here’s a video of Jesse Lacey serenading me with “The
Boy who Blocked his own Shot” ... You’re welcome, even though it's wobbly and looks like it was filmed on a potato! x
I’m surprised that I haven’t already done a little post on
this curling wand, considering it’s featured pretty heavily in my YouTube
videos!
The Babyliss 2285U Curling Wand is my favourite hair tool of all
time, the main reason I love this wand so much is because the curls stay in
for days. I’ve tried a bunch of different curling wands and tongs, but this is
the one that works every time. I think that some of this is due to the high
temperature it goes up to, as my hair is fairly thick so it needs a high heat
to work, and 200oc is apparently the perfect setting for me. Yes, I do use a
heat protecting product on my hair before hand, and you should too! One other thing to note, is that the cable is on a swivel thingy, (technical term) so it turns around at the base of the curler and doesn't get tangled. This makes it really easy to use and move around over your head without accidentally creating a noose, always a bonus.
Another
factor that makes it awesome is the conical shape, this makes the curls more
natural and modern looking, and less Shirley Temple. Also, it doesn’t have a
clamp so there’s no danger of getting that dent of shame where the clip has
crimped your hair. I must admit that it took me a good few attempts to get use
to just wrapping my hair around the curler, and there were definitely a few
minor burns in the process! However, if you’re sensible and actually wear the heat
protecting MJ glove (unlike me) then you’ll be fine.
You can get a nice range
of different textures with the Babyliss wand, from tighter Taylor Swift curls
all the way to loose, romantic Lauren Conrad waves. I think this is an older
model, but other Babyliss wands that are very similar seem to be priced around
the £20-£30 mark, which is a bargain if you ask me. I’ve had this for 3 years
now, and it’s still going strong!
I really don’t have a bad word to say about this wand, it
delivers excellent curls, and waves that last. If you want to see it in action
I’ve linked a video below! Like I said, I use it a lot on my channel if you
want to check it out :]
I’ve been lost in life again, I’m sorry, it’s been a tad
hectic but happy because I have aged another year...Yay to another step closer
to my bus pass. Haha, I kid! But seriously, where the hell has time gone!?
So what have I been so busy doing besides aging? Well, I’ve
been bouldering, drinking lots of tea, reading a few books, oh and doing that annoying
thing called work. Sadly, working more than anything else in this list. So over my birthday I've been out and about, shopping and eating mostly, all whilst channeling Avril Lavigne in my OOTDs for some reason. It's not all bad though, I get to see Brand New tomorrow, who are my all time most favorite band. They have seen me through my emo stages in High School, awkward college phases, all the way right up to now, and I'm so excited for the gig!
Anyway, I’m hoping
this little collage of photos will explain more, and also distract
from this very short post...

P.s I do have some beauty reviews coming up. I’m disappointed
about my blogging content (or lack of) lately! Also if you don't follow me on Instagram or Twitter then you should...because that way you would know I was alive! Haha.x
So I noticed this big, warm, glowing thing in the
sky...turns out it's the sun - Hurray!
Spring is finally looking a little sprung here in the UK,
and what better way to celebrate than with some beachy braids. This is really
easy to do, and it gets a lot of your hair up and out of your face, whilst still looking very put together. It's a sturdy hairstyle and I think it’s
pretty versatile for formal or casual occasions.
Let me know what you think and I hope you enjoy the video!
